A Day In The Life: Julie Clark

Julie Clark started Province Apothecary in 2012, after studying Holistic Health, Aromatherapy and Aesthetics. Since childhood, she’s always wanted to help people take care of their skin. She grew up with severe eczema, and when conventional treatments stopped working for her, she knew there must be a natural way to heal her skin.

For Julie, natural beauty goes beyond simply organic ingredients; natural beauty means a pledge to helping clients feel good in their own skin. “I gather so much inspiration from my clients, the weather, and the seasons,” says Julie, of her individually-tailored approach to skin care. Her facial treatments often include hand-blended masks using local produce and seasonally appropriate, farmer-friendly ingredients.

While PA has long outgrown the kitchen, Julie’s devotion to fresh, seasonal, and organic beauty continues. Julie remains committed to innovation, sustainability, and small-batch skin care of the highest quality: all products are formulated with effective, sustainable and ethical ingredients sourced responsibly locally and globally, without compromise.

8:30 AM

I wake up - I make coffee and drink a huge glass of lemon water while I check my Google Calendar for the day - can’t survive without it. I then meditate or journal or head out to spin class or a walk. It’s so nice to move your body and get energized for the day.

9:45 AM

I dry brush my body before I jump into the shower. After the shower, I do my morning skincare ritual: dry brush my face (with our Daily Glow Facial Dry Brush) and massage my face with serum + face balm.

I head over to the office. Our shop, office and skincare clinic are all a block away from my house. It’s great to be able to quickly move from one place to the next. Usually I start with going through my email inbox and have meetings with the team. The Pinstripe Structured Top is easy and comfortable for around the office while still feeling put together!

1:00 PM

I head to a project meeting at a coffee shop. We love having meetings at Run and Gun cafe across the street from our shop. It’s helpful to get out of our office and reduce the amount of distractions. I also love their Matcha Almond Latte. When I have an important meeting, I’ll put on the Notch Blazer on top of the Pencil Pant and instantly feel put-together.

3:30 PM

I stop by our skincare clinic and see how everyone is doing there. The Pencil Pant is perfect for working in the clinic. Then I pick up lunch in the neighbourhood (Pho Phuong, The Federal, The Goods) and find a quiet place to eat. I try to take a few minutes and eat away from my computer (when I can!).

7:00 PM

I leave work - stop home for a quick dinner. Favourite quick go-to meal: Golden curry noodle soup from Hot for Food.

8:00 PM

I try to prioritize relaxation after work. I love to take a few nights off from social engagements to stay home and read after dinner and crawl into bed early. Other nights, I like to hang with my husband and friends and grab a drink or dinner together.
